Good Afternoon BYBL Families,

I hope all our BYBL families are doing well. We are starting practices now and hopefully all doing our best to follow the guidelines that are in place.

I want to address some questions and provide a little more clarity for all of you:

REFUNDS: We are still in a holding pattern on those because we aren’t in Phase 4 as of yet. Once we are in Phase 4 and our Park District allows games to be played, then we will be 100% sure that we will be having a season. As we know everything can change one way or the other at any minute. So once we start games we will then know what the dollar amount for the refunds can be. We are going to maximize everyone’s refunds. Meaning we will be giving those that are not going forward with this season as much of a refund as we can. Hopefully, we will be able to afford to give a 100% refund. We will also be offering full credit for the fall season or next spring season as well. As I have explained, there has already been a lot of money spent before this whole Pandemic took over. But we will do the best we can to take care of all of you.

WAIVERS: You will not be able to participate in practices until these waivers are signed. If you are delaying signing them, that will delay your child practicing. If you are having a lot of concerns or questions, then maybe you should sit this season out and wait for Fall Ball or next season.

REMINDERS: No food at practice, including but not limited to gum, seeds, snacks, dinner, etc.

PHASE 4 GUIDELINES: The board and I will be meeting again to discuss the extra precautions and game guidelines within the next week. We are also waiting for more guidance and rules from our Park District, Governor, CDC, etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

MYSELF, MY BOARD, AND MY COACHES ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS AND WE ARE DOING OUR VERY BEST TO NAVIGATE THROUGH THESE EVER-CHANGING, UNCHARTED WATERS. THE BOARD AND I DISCUSS THIS ON A DAILY BASIS. AS ALWAYS, WE ARE DOING OUR BEST TO OFFER THE BEST BASEBALL EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILD.

THIS SEASON HAS BEEN THE HARDEST SEASON FOR ALL OF US (and we have not even played a game yet). FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE BEING PATIENT AND COOPERATIVE, WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Stay well!
